3 Years No Lost Time Accidents

Posted on 20 November 2017

Health and safety is at the forefront of our business and we want to make sure all our employees go home safe to their families each day.

Kilwaughter Minerals are delighted to announce that we have reached the milestone of three years with no lost time due to an accident or injury. The quarrying industry defines a “lost time” accident as a work-related accident or injury that results in an employee having to take time off from work. If an employee is able to return to work under restricted duty or is reassigned because of the injury, it is not considered a lost time incident.

Managing Director Simon McDowell comments, “We place a high priority on safety because safe work practices can mean the difference between life or death.”

This is a huge achievement for the company, especially within the quarrying industry. Credit for this success is given to our employee’s dedication to the ‘Target Zero’ scheme. Employees have demonstrated a superior level of safety by reaching the three year mark and it proves that all employees are committed to one another’s safety.
