Inherent in our approach to business is the belief that the community in which we operate should benefit from our presence. It is part of a continuing commitment to ensure we have a positive impact in our local community.
Education within the Community
We aim to enhance the experience of young people in the community when we open our doors to an average of 4 local primary or secondary schools every year. The visits are especially important as the correct image of the Company can be brought back to the community. We also work in partnership with Quarry Products Association NI (QPANI) to present the ‘Stay Safe…Stay out” campaign to all children and young people visiting.
We commit time and resources to structure the visits of secondary schools to align with their course syllabus, helping to optimise the educational benefits.
Good Morning Larne
A member of the Kilwaughter team volunteers one morning per week with the Good Morning Larne Scheme - a free community based telephone service support providing a daily phone call to the elderly and vulnerable who live within the borough of Larne, to check on their health and well-being. The aim of the service is to reduce loneliness, isolation and the fear of crime, but also offer peace of mind to family members. Those who volunteer find this to be a very rewarding scheme.
Sponsorships
Donations are given to various local charities each year, mainly promoting medical research, local economic development and education.
